Saturday, July 26, 2008 - Most of the Tallahassee United Futbol Club's u16 boys team has arrived in Virginia Beach,Virginia for the US Club Soccer National Finals. The majority of our boys drove up from Tallahassee on Friday, but we also had some of our dedicated players fly in from Washington, DC, California and even one from Germany! Three of our boys are participating in Youth Leadership Training and will join us tonight.We played our first game at 8am against the Triangle Futbol Club, a very good team from North Carolina. The weather was extremely nice, and the fields are great! Triangle scored first but the TUFC boys stayed in the game and tied it up with a goal from Jarrod Ingram. Adam McCabe scored a couple of minutes later to give us a 2-1 lead going into half time. Both teams came out strong in the second half. With ten minutes left in the game, Triangle scored again to tie the match. Both teams had chances to score in the final minutes but neither could find the back of the net. The game ended with the teams tied at two goals a piece.During their "down" time, the boys are relaxing on the beach, watching movies, and eating all they can get their hands on....typical teenage boys!Tallahassee United plays their next game at 2pm on Sunday, July 27 against Columbus (OH) Futbol Club.
